180 km. 10 km to the east. length and 7 km. It was founded on the Gazipaşa Plain on the Mediterranean coast. Mersin, Anamur, Karaman in the northeast, Ermenek, Sarıveliler in the north and Alanya in the west is adjacent. It is approximately 35 km. Parallel to the Mediterranean coast forming the southern borders. It is surrounded by Taurus Mountains, which extend from west to east. The length of the coastline of the district is approximately 50 km. It has very suitable beaches to enter the sea. Nearly half of the coastline is on the beach and the other part consists of rocky cliffs.
Hadrian’s Gate

Easily one of the most iconic spots in the whole city, the unmistakable Hadrian’s Gate is the main entrance into Kaleiçi, Antalya’s picturesque Old Town. Offering the perfect Instagram photo opportunity, this historical landmark was built in AD 130 to commemorate the visit of Emperor Hadrian to the city.
Shopping in Alanya
It is possible to find any item you might need during your stay in Alanya. Even if you just want to check out the local brands and escape from the heatwave, you can visit a shopping mall in Alanya.
Alanyum Shopping Mall is located in the Cumhuriyet district on Keykuybad Boulevard and has many local and international brands. Another big mall is the Time Center in Konaklı.
You can also check out the shopping streets close to the harbor in the center of Alanya to find different souvenirs.
Visit the Harbor
You can start exploring the old city from the famous Red Tower and the Seljuk Shipyard right beside it. Discover the narrow streets where you can find cafes, restaurants, and many shops around the harbor.
Alanya Castle is located on a high peninsula, overlooking the sea. Above the shipyard is the historical Tophane neighborhood.
Apart from that, you can book a boat trip to take pictures of the Alanya panorama from the sea and explore many extraordinary caves, like Lover’s Cave, Pirates Cave, and Phosphorus Cave.
Take a Tour to Ormana
The village of Ormana is located in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, about 95 kilometers from Manavgat and is famous for its button houses, built only of stone and boards without nails or cement.
Would like to go mushroom picking in the mountains? Here, you might find the morel mushroom. It’s the second most expensive edible mushroom in the world after the truffle.
From here, you can go to Altınbeşik Cave. It translates to “Golden Cradle” and is 5.5 kilometers long, the largest underground sea cave in Turkey and the third largest in Europe. You can go inside the cave in rubber dinghies.
We recommend renting a car to get to Ormana. If you don’t want to do that, you can join one of the organized tours that leave from Manavgat or Side.
